Gina is an experienced and innovative teacher of music and singing to adults and children of varying abilities and ages.
Teaching experience includes leading school music departments for primary and secondary music and writing music curriculums, managing primary and secondary classroom music, leading whole class vocal projects, directing a range of choirs for both adults and children, one to one and small group singing tuition and organising borough singing festivals in Harrow and Lewisham. Gina has had a number of private students and has worked as a singing teacher at Cherry Pie Music, Lewisham and Harrow Music Services, Cheam High and Cleeve Park Secondary Schools and higher education drama conservatoire Academy of Live and Recorded Arts (ALRA)
The repertoire taught in singing lessons includes music from the classical, musical and popular genres. Gina’s students have been successful in achieving places at London’s Brit School and Brighton Institute of Modern Music as well as being awarded Merits and Distinctions for singing grades 1 to 8.
In addition, Gina teaches the piano to beginners and has designed a special singing, piano and music theory course for children.
Gina specialises in school teaching of children and young people with Special Educational Needs. Gina has led the music departments at Perseid School, an Ofsted Outstanding specialist school for children from 3 to 20 years with severe and profound learning difficulties and Drumbeat School, a 4-19 specialist provision for students with autism. Gina currently leads music at Brent Knoll School, a specialist school for children and young people with complex social, communication and interaction difficulties.
Gina was awarded the Post Graduate Certificate in Learning Difficulties and Disabilities by the University of Birmingham, the Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Secondary Music by Greenwich University (Highly Commended) and the Music Tutor Training Course Diploma (Distinction) by CM London in collaboration with London Metropolitan University.
